Fab-Joint Straight Couplings are used for joining Pipes of the the same material or Pipes of different materials with the same outside diameter. They are available in 10mm size increments from 80mm nom. up to 2000mm nom. in standard form. Larger sizes are also available. Fab-Joint Couplings can be supplied in M.S., Cast Iron as well as in S.S. Constructions depending upon the application.

Heavy Duty Couplings, with strengthened end flange and sleeves are available.

Long Sleeve Couplings, to take up extra expansion and contraction, can also be supplied.

Quickfit Couplings or preassembled are available from 80mm nom. up to 300mm nom., to ease and speed fitting. When using these care must be taken to ensure that Pipes are within the tolerances stated on the schedules of this brochure, if pressure ratings are to be maintained.

Anchored Couplings have harness brackets welded to the centre sleeve so that the couplings may be bolted directly to the supporting structure. Anchored couplings may be supplied at any size as per customers request.

Bolts are supplied as standard for sizes up to and including 300mm nom. Over this size, black bolts are supplied as standard, but Electro-galvanized bolts can be supplied if required, at extra cost. Epoxy coated couplings are supplied with epoxy coated bolts, Stainless steel bolts are also available at extra cost.

Marine Applications
Fab-Joint Couplings specified for marine use are supplied complete with galvanized bolts and grade T nitrile sealing rings. Heavy duty couplihngs with strengthened end flanges and sleeves are available in sizes from 250mm nom. to 1800mm nom.

Coupling Sleeve Design within the range of standard souplings there are variations of centre sleeve design, depending on the size and application.

Standard sleeve. There are two types of standard sleeve for differing pipe sizes:

Rolled steel sleeve.
Malleable cast iron sleeve.

These standard sleeves do not have an integral centre register within the sleeve, enabling couplings to be slipped back along the pipe for pipe cleaning, repair and maintenance purposes.
